The G-20 conference started on Saturday in Agra, the Taj city of Uttar Pradesh. On the first day on Saturday, there was a churning on women consciousness and empowerment. The two-day meeting was inaugurated by Union Child Development Minister Smriti Irani along with State Government’s Women and Child Development Minister Babirani Maurya. In the meeting, Union Child Development Minister Smriti Irani suggested the country’s agenda to the foreign guests.

He said that the economy will change only after giving women their rights and giving them a share in every field. India is an example in front of the world in giving women a share. Here the tribal woman is the president and the other woman is handling the entire finance. In such a situation, the G-20 countries should also increase the participation of women in every field.

Promotion of development discussed in four sessions

Members of 13 G-20 and 7 invited countries started the Agra Summit on Women Empowerment in the morning at the Taj Convention Hotel. In this, discussions were held in four sessions on preparing a road map, formulating policies, promoting women-led development to equip women with digital skills.

Thoughts on including digital skills in the curriculum

The Union Child Development Minister said that digital skills are essential for economic empowerment and strengthening the role of women at the grassroots level. For this, it is being considered to make digital skills a part of the curriculum. Prime Minister Modi had talked about women-led development, only after which the Women-20 events were included in the G-20.

The first meeting was addressed by G-20 Sherpa Amitabh Kant, Indevar Pandey, Secretary, Ministry of Child Development, Dr. Sangita Reddy, Chairperson, G-20 Women Empowerment Forum. Smriti Irani told the guests that if you want to shape your future, women should be at the center of your discussions and decisions and they should get a share.
